Hydrangea macrophylla Nikko Blue

A compact, deciduous ornamental shrub with a bushy shape. Its mature height is 1.2-1.8m and width 1.2-1.5m. Its leaves are bright green and oval. The flowers are large, about 20 cm in diameter. It blooms from July to September, and the flower color is cobalt blue. The flower color is influenced by the soil pH. Ideal for it is a spot with medium light, partial shade or shade. It needs loose, slightly acidic soil. Water needs are moderate. It always blooms on the previous year's shoots. It is therefore important to cover it in winter, which avoids freezing and a lack of flowering. It can be planted in pots or gardens as a standalone plant or in combination with other plants.
